2011Pumpkins

Anticipation is building, because tonight, is one of my very favorite night’s of the year!  It’s pumpkin carving night, and I write about this topic each Halloween season.  To me, this is my very favorite Halloween tradition.  I love it more than trick or treating or costumes.  Being artistic, getting ooey gooey, roasting seeds…..yep, this is my night.  My kids have followed in my footsteps, because I know they love pumpkin carving night just as much as I do.  My daughter is so careful about getting every single seed out of her pumpkin, and she spends days on picking out the perfect design.

Here are some blogs I wrote with pictures of pumpkins from the last couple of years:

2011:  Cowboy/Witch Hat, Angry Birds & Vampire Smurf:  http://tucsonsongstress.com/2011/10/30/our-2011-halloween-pumpkins/

2012: Tigger, Scooby Doo as a witch, Lightening McQueen:  http://tucsonsongstress.com/2012/10/31/tonight-tonight-is-halloween-493/

I cannot wait for tonight, and tomorrow’s blog will be full of great pictures.  Until then, I’m in the mood to hear from The Pumpkin King himself today:  Jack.  ”The Nightmare Before Christmas” was a brilliant movie, and Danny Elfman’s soundtrack is perfectly awesome.  I am always listening to songs from this excellent movie every Halloween, and today’s song is owned by “Jack’s Lament.”  So click HERE to watch the awesome scene of Jack walking in the graveyard in front of the moon and to hear a great song.  It puts me in the Halloween spirit, and boy am I psyched up for tonight!
