When you were a kid,
Small and cute,
Carefree of the world,
With loads of time to play with
You wanted to grow up.
I wish someone had told you then,
To just breathe.
When you turned a teen,
Rebellious and searching,
Every thing was confusing,
These were the years that would,
Set the tone for you,
Even small things felt big,
Life was still a wonderland,
You had things to achieve,
I wish someone had told you then,
To just breathe.
When you leave behind your friends and college,
The world seems too big,
And you appear too small,
You realize the truth,
And you want to go back to,
The days of your childhood,
But now it's too late,
You have to strut a certain way
I wish someone had told you then,
To just breathe.
When you are an old man out,
Sitting in a corner of boulevard street,
And trying to remember your past,
You will soon realize that you did what you did best,
And there was never two ways about it anyway.
So now, you just breathe.
