Keeping My Eyes and Heart Open to the Gifts of Synchronicity

From Project Reverb: Encounters: What thing did you keep encountering this year over and over 9599910386_72e34506a5_bagain?  Was it something you learned from, or was it just a strange coincidence?

Lesson: Beauty is Everywhere

Just today I said to Emma, "I can't help it if other people can't see the lovely aesthetic inherent in shopping carts, abandoned in unique places." I paused, looking out my windshield to survey my newest shopping cart find.

I started photographing shopping carts last Spring and I have been in love ever since.

You know how it is, once you notice something in particular - like a specific sort of car - suddenly, there it is in front of you all the time!

Synchronicity -

when people show up (again and again) in your daily life

I also have a new friend who has unexpectedly popped up in different places when I had no expectation of the meeting. Synchronicity is at work all the time, whether you plan it or not. Stay aware and connect the dots and you will find glorious treats everywhere whether it be in art or in relationships or in suddenly finding tons of women's studies books at library sales.

These things are always there.

This year I have been remembering more and more.

I've been out driving today and saw some great abandoned shopping carts to photograph. I'm waiting for when the light is better.

My new friend is out of town until Sunday.

I'm sorting out and cataloguing my library during the next few week.

Weaving together the moments of synchronicity in the past year reminds me of a dance around a Maypole. In 2014, I am committed to keeping my eyes open and step into the space of synchronicity with an open heart and lots of joy.
