What a truly special evening I shared with my daughter last night! We went to see the new Cinderella movie, and it is absolutely wonderful – a perfectly made film. Everything about this movie is perfect – from the casting to the costumes to the breathtaking scenery.
Filmed at both the Blenheim Palace in Oxford, England and at the Windsor Castle in Berkshire, you so easily fall under the spell of all the magic woven throughout. The special effects with the fairy G-dmother and Prince Charming’s impossibly blue eyes (and perfect teeth as my daughter noted) draw you in making it impossible to even get up for a bathroom break.
Cinderella is every girl’s childhood dream, no matter how distorted that image makes real life, but for the 2 hours of viewing, one slips easily into the fairy tale never glancing at their watch once for the entirety of the film.
My song of the day is the traditional “Lavender’s Blue,” which is sung throughout the movie with delicate little voices. Enjoy the fairy tale and go see this cinematic bliss, because every girl needs a good one from time to time.
