It was a hot summer day
Seems like it may have been march, or maybe may
Running from pillar to post
Couldn’t we but find, a sight
To which we could toast
Time was running short, schedule getting tight
My pal, said I, let’s not waste the moment
Watching setting sun would be absolutely brilliant
Let’s accelerate from the crowd, said I
We were in the vicinity, just a few miles shy
He said, hold on till the sight of the shore
Dazzles your soul and enthralls your core
We drove miles and miles out of the city
On one tarmac laden road
Bewitched by sea of unknown capacity
The curves and turns embellished the ride
Just as shore is adorned with high tide
And in the next insane moment, there I was
The enormous sea swelled and roared
Made noises as if i broke a glass
I dauntily touched, with my bare toe
The wet and slippery sand, as if it were a foe
Euphoric I was, couldn’t differ water from snow
Sun would have shied away, such did my smile glow
Emotions mixed together and threw a cocktail
Brought out a smile nothing could entail
I said to the inside me
Being happy ain’t that hard
Piece together, broken glass and shard
And ride out, ride to the sea
And be, be like the sea…
