Here are my tips to taking part in a successful shopping experience during a Lilly online sale:
1) Set a budget. I went crazy last year and spent way too much on things I didn't need. I ended up selling a lot of new dresses on eBay. This year I have set a budget, and I am going to stick to it.
2) Have a game plan; know what you are looking for. I will be looking for the Callahan style shorts in the canvas-like material and V-neck tops/dresses. While I love the classic Lilly dresses, I can't do the shift neckline; it does not work on me. I am hoping that narrowing down my search items, it'll be easier to stick to my budget.
3) If you do not yet have an account on Lilly Pulitzer's website, make one, and set up your payment before the sale begins. That way you can quickly check-out.
4) Open the Lilly Pulitzer homepage before the sale begins. And at 8am Eastern / 7am Central, keep pushing refresh till it downloads. I do this every time, for ruelala sales too.
5) Wake up early. Drink your coffee. Get in your shopping "on the hunt" state of mind.
6) Check out often, and make sure you have selected the right size and have read the measurements.
7) Make sure your computer or technology source is plugged in or has full charge. I set my computer on my desk plugged in and on standby the night before. (This is Christmas Round 2 for me!)
8) Set your alarm. (I overslept once, and everything I wanted had sold out.)
9) Have fun! And remember sometimes there are troubles with the site, but the nice people at Lilly Pulitzer headquarters are working their hardest for quick and easy transactions... be patient!
