Maybe
It doesn’t matter
what hand you hold
or whose tears you wipe
or whom you cajole to sleep
if left unrequited
But is that why you do it
to be held
because you held her once
to be calmed
because you calmed her once
or wait for her to embrace you
because you did when she needed that
But how?
How is that love?
It feels like a bargain
One sells emotions
another buys
And then,
you expect the same
Is that what we have come to?
A world without love, care and generosity
puzzling it is,
and troubling too
Have we forgotten,
the joy of waiting
for a call from your beloved
because WhatsApp has replaced that
And we are talking less than we are messaging
and fighting more than cuddling
and breaking more than embracing
Have we forgotten
how love used to be
Our minds anxious
yet not wanting to let go
Holding her by her shoulder
clasping her close
while sitting by the lakeside
A silly wind grazing you by
And her flowing locks
swaying wildly,
into your face
You grab the wildlings
put them back into the cavity
between her ear and her head
and then they come out again
as if they were teasing you
and she laughed
And you held her close
and said nothing,
only the eyes talked
and the hearts gladdened
How is it thay we have we forgotten
how romance used to be?
Have we lost all faith in goodness of humanity?
Have we bowed down to the power of technology?
How is it that we have become so selfish so full of stupidity and absurdity?
How is it that we have lost all patience,
and yet continue to seek peace?
This doesn’t come good
This doesn’t come good
For the betterment of humanity
We all, and all our mirrored selves
shall exist,
in nothing but harmony
In nothing but harmony..
And may then,
We will have peace
We will have peace…
