I have a fear of being photographed. It is a warranted fear, because I have had so many horrible pictures taken of me. My husband calls it “The many faces of Julie.” The problem is that people are always taking pictures of me while I am singing or teaching. I guess I must have very animated facial expressions, because the photos taken of me during these circumstances are just ridiculous.
This is why I shrink back in terror whenever I see a news reporter or photographer from the paper. Hands down….they always want to get a shot of the music girl with a gazillion kids surrounding her. We make good material for an audience, but still….why must I always have a “many faces of Julie” look on my face?
This, blog readers, is the photo that was on the front page of the Foothills section in the Arizona Daily Star today:

Yes, I am thrilled that my work is getting some good press for my employers, but man….can’t they just once post a picture of me where I’m smiling? Just once. That’s all I ask.
My husband once compiled an entire page of photos with “the many faces of Julie,” and Wow!!!….I guess these faces are common occurrences for me. Dear Lord….please, in my next life, send me back looking like a Supermodel!
My song of the day is Gary Jules’s “Mad World” because of the song’s opening lyrics:
All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow
