Make It Happen

Posted on the 16 August 2012 by Mattie @comfyconfident

Last night I got home from work with every intention of working out. I had a plan: eat a quick snack, relax for 30 minutes, change and then hit the gym. Well, my snack turned into dinner, relaxing turned into hours watching Extra, Access Hollywood and the Tone It Up girls. By 9pm, I had resigned to the fact that working out was no longer going to happen. And then, Vinnie, who was working late, FB chatted me and the conversation went a little like this:

Vinnie: What’s going on at home?
Me: OMG, nothing.. I am so lazy.. I have been sitting around all night.
[2 min. later] I NEED to workout.
[1 min. after that]  I am totally becoming a lazy bummmmm

After I wrote the words lazy bum, I realized I could easily change it. All I had to do was get up and do it. No one was stopping me, except myself. I think I just had to see it in front of me in order to recognize I was holding myself back. I think about it all the time but writing it and seeing it really made me jump into action and make a workout happen.

So I did! I changed and decided to do a HIIT workout because I knew it would be quick and effective. BexLife had just posted a new workout and I took the opportunity to give it a try!

CRAZY SILLY SEXY CARDIO CHALLENGE (perform each round 3 times):

ROUND 1 (each exercise – 45 seconds on / 15 seconds rest)
– Exercise 1: pushups
– Exercise 2: high knees
– Exercise 3: elbow planks to pushups
– Exercise 4: squat jumps

ROUND 2 (each exercise – 45 seconds on / 15 seconds rest)
– Exercise 1: mountain climbers
– Exercise 2: wall sit
– Exercise 3: double crunches
– Exercise 4: fast feet

It was the perfect 25 minute, late night workout. I definitely slept better knowing that I got to sweat a little bit!
