May 20X31 Fitness Challenge Check In #1 - One Has to Start Somewhere & It Can Only Get Better!

May fitness challenge logoI’ve been slowly and surely paying more attention to my physical health so when my dear friend Jen decided to host this challenge it was a no brainer. I would, in fact, participate. The bigger question was what to do?

How to explore different sorts of activities since I know I will be traveling for at least two weeks in May?

The answer was as simple as asking the question itself:

Find videos that inspire and delight me, that are fairly simple to do, and involve dancing.

I can’t remember where I saw a link to Qoya dancing, but it fits all my requirements. I started with dancing with the heart and from there, I pick a video and dance my heart like crazy!

I also found a fun alternative yesterday because I seriously fell in love with the woman who made the videos. I was getting a massage yesterday and I had a memory flash of how fun it was when I learned to skip.

Remember that?

I know I started with a gallop and then graduated to a skip. It felt so good that little hoppity hop that comes with skipping. It is faster than walking and didn’t have that aggressive, competitive feeling that breaks me out of running.

(Who knows, though, by the end of this challenge I may be running again.)

THIS! However, just makes me smile and giggle. I suppose most of you have heard of it: Prancercise!

In fact, this weekend I am challenging myself to go do some prancercise on a favorite path. I may have to take a video of it, though, so I will always remember my first public prancercising.

Never wanted to post thisI can't promise hair or an outfit quite like Joanna, but I can promise I'll have a darned good time out there!

Thank you, Jen for pushing me over the edge.

And thank you, the others in the challenge! I look forward to getting to know you.

There is still time for you to participate also!
