Medical Mondays #3: Final Exam Weeks

Here it is again - it feels like just last week I posted for this blog hop? Bye September, hello October!
Medical Mondays #3: Final Exam Weeks
For those of you who have just stumbled onto this blog here is a brief summary of what I write about: Mori, my medical student boyfriend and I were long distance for two years and recently moved in together in August. He is in his second year of medical school, I am in my third year of a public accounting career. We are both busy and stressed, but in love.

Medical Mondays #3: Final Exam Weeks

Trying to take a nap between studying.

Finals week is like an odd time travel flick in our house. You know the scene where the time traveling character walks around while the rest of the world is at a standstill? Yes, that is our house for seven days except the ones at a standstill are the studying medical students while the laundry, dishes, and dirt seem to accumulate at faster-than-light speed.
The same can be said when it is my busy season from January through April. Dishes pile up, laundry passes a sniff test that is very lenient, and the cat barely gets fed. This wasn’t much of an issue the past few years because I lived alone and had no one to complain about the expired food about to crawl out of the fridge. Now, I’m slightly worried what will happen come USMLE Step One study time if finals week brings everything to a halt.
We’ll have to hire a maid service to scoop us out of our filth!
But we will get through that dark period of time relatively unscathed, and just like this weekend filled with old college friends and lots of merriment and drinking – the sun will rise again. For now, I’ll bask in the light because the next three months are about to fly by at break neck speed and the Step One & tax season are growing shadows.
Do you pick up the slack during the stressful times?
