Earlier today I was in a sour sort of mood. This will be the first Christmas at home where my family is split up. I've grown up with the same traditions and goings on for so many years that this new switch upset me. This afternoon we were to go to Church without my mom; I was not looking forward to this.
I called my mom, and told her I was in an anti-Christmas mood.
Two hours later, walking in to Church... I see my mom and step-father (Mr. and Mrs. Darcy) saving seats for my sister, sister's boyfriend, father, dad's girlfriend, and me. I almost started crying. They had driven across state lines just to accompany my sister and me to church. I told my mom it was our little Christmas Miracle. It was a wonderful gift to have my entire family with me in church, sharing in a tradition I've always loved... Christmas Eve Mass. Thank you!
Tomorrow, after a small Christmas morning with SisterT and my dad, I'll drive over to celebrate the holiday with Mr. Darcy's family and my mom. I can't wait to give them their presents. (I'll tell you tomorrow!) I had a lovely Christmas Eve at my dad's. We played a dice game, ate too much, and watched a great movie The Conspirators.
Now, I am off to finish A Christmas Story with Darling Raquel at my side and in my Saint Nicholas print pajamas.
