The child was terrified. It had been his first day at school. All he said was, the teachers taught him how to kill and bury other kids.
-------------------------------------------------------------------She'd been engrossed in a book when the door opened. She saw no one. The power went out. An axe fell, neatly slicing the skin off her face.
-------------------------------------------------------------------Why did she wake up feeling exhausted? She was sweating. It was still dark outside. She saw a shape... And her door closed behind it.
------------------------------------------------------------------- It was always a different nightmare. But she'd always see rows of marching crows and a grave. Perhaps it was the same nightmare.
------------------------------------------------------------------- The clothes were uncomfortable. But after spending such a long time in a strait jacket, she didn't really wanna complain about jeans.
------------------------------------------------------------------- On the outside, it was a silent grave. But you could feel the turmoil within; of an unhappy soul trying hard to break through.-------------------------------------------------------------------It seemed strange to him that she spoke to a mirror every night. Stranger still that she hadn't aged a bit in all the years he'd known her.
-------------------------------------------------------------------Frantic, she scraped the peeling paint. Her nails chipped and her fingers bled. At last she found the counter curse underneath.
------------------------------------------------------------------- Captivity is a strange thing. Hunger is a stranger thing. A couple of days without food, and I didn't mind eating my only friend.
------------------------------------------------------------------- I had that dream again when I felt darkness around me, and when I tried to touch my eyes, there were only hollow, wet sockets there.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I had that dream again where there was a dead spider in my soda can and I drank it up...
-------------------------------------------------------------------I had that dream again where I had to kill my dog because he and the neighbor's Chucky doll began to talk to each other.
------------------------------------------------------------------- I had that dream again, where you got up from where you lay buried; decayed skin covered in dirt, you appeared at my doorstep.
------------------------------------------------------------------- This was paradise, he thought. So many drifting hearts in a river of black blood, to eat and drink to his heart's content.
------------------------------------------------------------------- Alright, who thought it would be funny to gift me a bloodied skull on my birthday?!
------------------------------------------------------------------- "Excuse me, I'd like to return this pizza. I don't remember ordering one with crawling white worms and fungi as toppings."
------------------------------------------------------------------- The demons appeared.
Cruel laughter,
Upon her broken soul
Through every crack
Poisoned blood oozed
Through her silent grave.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Moonbeams fell upon her. Her thoughts began to transform. Hunger for human flesh pushed her on. Incidentally, it was Friday the 13th.
------------------------------------------------------------------- She couldn't handle the breakup. Before drinking the poison, she chopped each of her fingers, then her toes and feet, and mailed him the box.
-------------------------------------------------------------------She listened to those tunes again, violent thoughts entering her mind. They found another body that night, the headlines said the next day.
-------------------------------------------------------------------Across the street, there were no houses left. Just rubble - that was being sucked into what looked like a black hole. Too close.
-------------------------------------------------------------------Near the horizon, they saw black smoke. It seemed to be approaching fast. "The sky is falling!" she was scared. "Perhaps, literally."
-------------------------------------------------------------------The crescent moon mocked her. She taunted it back. In anger it sliced through the clouds and pinned her against the door in a choke-hold.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The spirit walked around the house, looking at the flowers and the sky. No one had told him everything appeared bluish after death. Sigh.
------------------------------------------------------------------- It may have been the sea playing tricks on her at night. But she could've sworn it was a hand that her gripped her throat briefly.
------------------------------------------------------------------- "Who are you?" she asked the darkness. "Your worst fear." said a hoarse whisper. The walls of the asylum echoed with her screams.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
"I've seen enough; nothing can scare me anymore." It was her last thought before the last star in the sky crashed to the burning ground.
-------------------------------------------------------------------I looked into the eyes of the messenger. "The world will burn." "No one 'll believe me. They call me insane cos I talk to wolves," I said.
-------------------------------------------------------------------After all they'd been through together, it seemed strange to leave. But he was a demon. She didn't even know she had fed him blood.-------------------------------------------------------------------There was always something about her that made people point and laugh. But they didn't know about the brews she was concocting secretly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Opening grandma's secret closet was a bad idea. Dragons are real, apparently. Violent pets, I tell you! One just roasted me to ashes.
-------------------------------------------------------------------The body was discovered on the shore three days later, eyes nibbled by fish,a trident through her neck. Neptune didn't like being angered.
------------------------------------------------------------------- A hundred snakes slithered in all directions. And yet, she would prefer being bitten by one and dying, than facing the other side.
-------------------------------------------------------------------She sat at the window, feeding her new born baby. The child's eyes glowed red. He was being fed with the blood of his father's mistresses.Copyright Petrichor and Clouds 2013 at petrichorandclouds.blogspot.com Please do not reproduce the material published here.
