My First Day of College

Posted on the 14 September 2015 by Fizz @ThePoetsAlley
Who can ever forget their
first day of college,
which was the beginning of
a new life.
The previous night I had kept everything ready,
My uniforms, a notebook to jot something important,
Shoes, a pen and my bag,
I wasn't going to forget anything!
The first years had to assemble in the hall,
Orientation was for our goodwill,
A speech by the dean,
Trying to inspire or just talk the rules.
Things quickly went by,
At lunch, we had to wait in lines,
That was the time to meet new people,
Or say hello to that cute girl!
After lunch, we had the introductions,
It was just too confusing,
I wanted to run,
Everything felt suffocating.
The day got over,
And I had made a few new friends,
Little did I know what to expect,
But I didn’t really care!
Because on that first day of college,
I was proud to be where I was,
And prouder still of myself,
For taking that first step towards a better future.
