Not Home for the Holiday

Posted on the 28 December 2012 by Missliabilities
How lovely to have 6 straight days of no taxes or awkward hallway conversations! Instead I spent the Christmas holiday with M's family who went out of their way to make me feel at home since I wasn't allowed to be there. My brother and sister met me for brunch one day and we quickly exchanged gifts before my dad realized they weren't sticking to his rigid Christmas Plan, every minute of which is in his mental itinerary that no one is allowed to stray from.
I'm still bitter about the whole thing- don't raise your children to be honest and keep strong convictions and then penalize them when they become adults that uphold their values. Just because he is the one that has loose morals shouldn't mean I need to adopt his ways. And neither of us has spoken to one another since that fight- except when he texted me to tell me something about how his cheating was fine because my stepmom cheated on him a month before their divorce was finalized. Yeah he must have had the foresight to see that happening since he was cheating 10 of their 12 years of marriage. Stupid justifications.
Anyways, M and I spent the holiday decorating cookies, getting drunk with his extended family, going to mass, and not sleeping in the same room. Oh conservatives :)! It was the least stressful Christmas I've had in the past decade.
Oh and that blizzard on Wednesday? Yeah it took me 5 extra hours to get home so I took yesterday off too to clean the filthy house before we go on Vacation #2 next week.
Hope all your holidays were filled with love and good cheer!
