Of Feels and Touch

Posted on the 18 November 2014 by Shruti2910
'I want to see you’, he whispered.
She began will her tresses. She pulled out the pin from her hair as her fingers shook slightly realizing what she was about to do. She went on to pull out the black band that blended exactly with the color of her hair. Wrapping it around her left wrist. The flesh on the wrist bulged out, highlighting the heaviness she carried. Layers of red nail paint narrated tales of nervous tics and shaking hands.
Her hands were still shaking, carving their way down her sides, attempting to trace curves, if any and counting stretch-marks only she knew the positions of. She interpreted them mentally, sketching constellations on her skin, labeling them with names and stories that made her realize how flawed her body was. Of aunts and lovers and shame that came along. Talking to her own imperfections.
She raised her hands, taking a deep breath, tugging the hem of frayed fabric on the border of her top. For that one moment, she panicked. She couldn't see anyone infront of her. No face, nothing. Suddenly all these chores didn't have a motive. She dragged the frayed top from her torso a bit harder till the cloth was on the ground. Quiet in a reflex, she wrapped her hands in middle, digging nails strongly enough to leave some marks behind. She followed her curves again, softly, feeling every inch of the skin and small in-grown. 'Need some waxing session soon', he told herself.
A wax session, she repeated to herself again. It reminded her about the day Abhi took her out for a surprise candle-light date. 8 years back. It had been quiet sometime they'd gone out together without their families.
Her fingers soon traced the way back to the hook of her bra. She didn't feel shy. Unhooking, she fumbled. And smiled.
It reminded her how Abhi fumbled with the hooks for the first time, and they had burst out laughing in the middle of it.
She was taken on a whole lot of nostalgia, of the first times.
Till she felt a touch on her back - manly, passionate and strong.
She turned around to see his face and him her's.
'Can you see me now?'
