Vinnie and I ventured up to VT for the weekend to visit our families, spend some time on the lake and eat some good food!
It was so fun to hang out with my family. I feel like I have not seen them in so long. My life has been flying by me. It was nice to take a step back and enjoy some quality time with my sisters and brother!
We went to the local craft fair!
And… I went water skiing!! I have not been in probably 5 years!
I only took one wipe-out. The above pic is right before I face-planted (notice my tongue sticking out – that is a signature of mine whenever I do any sport!)
As part of my half-marathon training I had to go for an 8 mile run on Sunday. It took a lot of motivation because the terrain is hilly and there are not a ton of options. I ended up doing a couple loops all around the lake in order to complete 8 miles.
I started off really strong, it felt good to be out on the road and working up a sweat. By mile 3 I started to slow down a little bit and then by mile 4 it was all up hill!
Sometimes when I run, I feel like I can run forever. And this run was no exception. Although, after the run, I was pooped. It took me a lot of water, a couple hours and some food to get me feeling back to normal.
I really started feeling better when we started eating Sunday night dinner!
Vinnie and I LOVE sunday dinner. It’s really one of the only times we can eat together and we spend time together before the busy work week. We had Vinnie’s sister over for some homemade pizza! It was delicious.
We made a bunch of different kinds of pizza and arugula salad with beets and goat cheese. I had about 5 slices of pizza, and it was all worth it!
How was your weekend!?!?
