Just what it was about that mansion that gave me the creeps, I did not know. A majestic structure that seemed to have a dark cloud looming over it always. But that was just something I imagined, of course. Today, many years have passed and I am curious to know what happened to the mansion. I drove to that part of the town where we had played as children, daring to take a peek. I stood at the gate. I must have stood there a long time.A woman walked towards me. I was startled. I did not know where she came from. The mansion had been abandoned for as long as I knew about it. She touched my cheek and gave a high-pitched laugh. I was too shocked to move.“You are one of us now,” she said ominously, with a smile that revealed rows of rotted teeth.
