Outsourcing

Posted on the 28 April 2012 by Nickmcdonald @W_W_O_Nick_McD
Aha!! I finally got my juice back, after an almost TWO day hiatus of actually doing stuff BLAH I'm back in bed, got some Gym Class Heroes playing and got my computer back in my lap where it belongs. This one is going to be good I hope I got a good topic and I'm ready to go!
Outsourcing, it happens more and more recently and for some reason I haven't heard of one person that supports it! My dad is.......racist. haha Not like racist-racist but the kind of racism that he doesn't even realize is racist. Like we live (or used to live) in an area that was heavily populated by Indians (real Indians not natives) and when ever he heard someone with a strong accent he would always laugh after we left, I don't know why I mean he lived there his whole life basically. And this carried on to the telemarketer or the other customer service people. When ever he gets someone who has an accent or doesn't speak good english on the phone, he always gets mad, and that is common for most everyone I hear of. I don't find it to be that big of an inconvenience, yeah it's a bit harder but who cares?
The main big thing, that I should have opened with, is that people say that it is taking away jobs. And that is true at least for us, but you have to remember that there are other people, those people in India on the other side of the phone need jobs to! A hell of a lot more than we do! Over there, the money they make answering phones is significant, they can support their family with that! Where as here that would be considered a dead end minimum wage job that people hate, think about it. Where is it going to do more good?
Another thing that bugs me is something my dad also always does, when he sees something cheap, or of poor quality he always makes a reference to little kids in China. And it pisses me off that people are so against that. Not that I think kids should be working in factories, but they kind of have to if they live there, I do think they should get paid more though, that is important. But when those snobby assholes get all up in the factories business wanting them to shut down their factories that use child labour, it's fucking ridiculous you are taking the few jobs that are available away from the people that need them desperately, what the fuck are those kids going to do with out that job? Go to school? What fucking school? And who is going to support them? It's easy to get on your high horse here in the civilized world, but what ever money those kids are making in the factories is all that is keeping them alive, it's not like their parents are like "Okay, you're five now you don't need any more schooling, go fuck up your body working long hours in a factory to make a few extra dollars." No they HAVE to work there it's not a choice, you shouldn't be trying to outlaw child labor you should try to make it better for them make the companies pay more, then the parents might be able to support their kids for longer and it would really help the world economy.
I don't have any good advise for this post, just think about this, their culture is VERY different from ours you can't compare apples to oranges you can only genetically modify oranges to make them easier to eat.
Get it, mandarin oranges, I thought that was quite cleaver. lol
