Overcoming Rage

Posted on the 21 March 2016 by Heartbaredtoyou121 @naughtytushki

In the last couple of years, we, as a society, have seen multitude of events related to road rage, where individuals have hit or killed people in a fit of rage, unable to control the extent of their anger. The recent incident I am concerned about is a helper from Thane who killed his parents because they nagged him from playing Kabbaddi. Is that logical? Slaying somebody over that trivial an issue? Or slaying somebody at all? Ofcourse not! Nothing can justify human sacrifice for the want of settling one’s anger management issues. Nothing should. What is needed in these times is education about anger and its downsides and the consequences and repercussions need to be taught not just in schools but to the society as a whole. While it will take quite long to bring a societal change, a personal change is equally important. Here are some of the methods which can help you with your anger next time you end up in a rage:

a. Never point fingers at anybody

b. Move out of arguments that heat up and control your anger

c. When enraged or feel like hitting anybody, take a deep breath and count to ten and rethink if you want to do that. If the urge still persists, redo the whole thing all over again
