Pages from my notebook are random meanderings from my stream of consciousness. Sometimes these are my very favorite writings and other times, it is sort of like sitting with one of your old elementary school teachers after a long day at school: she just rambles on about nothing and everything - and you love her just the same.

I'm sitting in my recliner with my computer in my lap, watching out my window.
One might say I am listening out my window, since that is a primary enjoyment of mine: listening to the birds and the cars, and the people chattering away as they walk down the street not knowing anyone can hear them, or perhaps care to hear them.
I put a candle on my side table about forty-five minutes ago because I planned to light it as a way to appease the creativity goddesses but then I promptly forgot to light it. Alice the Cat has been very persistent in her urging to be fed, so as soon as my writing session for today is over, I will pop down to the store to fetch more nibbles for her and yes, i will light the candle before I sit down at my computer again.
A man and his dog strolled past my house, the man looking toward my window.
If I didn't know better I would think he could see me writing him into these words: his blue flannel shirt slapping around his round belly, covered by a t-shirt. I imagine he was checking out the old-school lace curtains on my windows, including the center one tied up so that my view of him - and anyone else happening past - is unobstructed.
He is muttering to his dog, all six feet slapping along the pavement.
I wonder when his last creative thought slapped his mind.
Today I noticed my spider plant is about to give birth to twins. Well, she will give birth to twins when I decide to midwife them into a pot and give out kisses that say, "Its a plant!"
Wouldn't that be funny to the right people?
I realize I have ten minutes until it is time to leave my house for a fill of pet supplies and perhaps a few other items. Since I'm giving up sugar for as long as I am able, this will not include a side trip to the donut store although just mentioning that thought caused a duet of my stomach rumbling and my mind cavorting down the candy aisle.
There could be worse things.
(I just haven't found them yet.)
