Pinoy Matters is Back to Business

by Des Picture by Olly Molly Golly Les. Six months is not a long time yet it feels like an entire lifetime whenever I look back now. Another impending move have once again pushed me to a melancholic point in my life, asking personal questions only I can answer, battling doubts over the consequences of past choices, summoning more strength to trust in the future with much careful regard to my present disposition, some of the reasons why the site has been more quiet than usual in the past few days.
For those who are wondering, I started this site mainly for my parents. That's right. This site is my love letter to them. For after being away from home for too long (12 years and counting), I still miss them everyday. I couldn't pass this opportunity of being able to assure my parents I'm alright without them seeing the bucketful of tears that fall everytime I hear their voice over the phone. Skype is a great invention, on one hand, but it doesn't serve me well when I see them cry on the computer screen with the mere exchange of hellos. I have genetically acquired that very Filipino sentimentality. And now you probably have a clue why this site means so much to me.
Unexpectedly, I re-encountered and rediscovered wonderful people through this website. The imaginations of Olly, Lanox, Ryan, Christian, my brother Tristan, and a few encouragement from wonderful people have kept this site going. They have pushed the site's imagination forward, a great leap from that little girl's reality. So this is an ode to my parents, to the Pinoy Matter group's creativity and to your time, our dear visitors. In a few days, someone I admire and had the pleasure of working with in the past will be joining us on board. It's business as usual and soon we will get to know more of Enid Madarcos as she blogs about things that are of Pinoy Matters. Something's telling me we are in for yet another treat. Your excitement is as good as mine.
Welcome to Pinoy Matters, Enid!
