President’s Day

Posted on the 21 February 2012 by Mattie @comfyconfident

I hope everyone had a great President’s Day.

I had my first day off in a really long time, it was glorious! I slept in, watched tv while sipping coffee, went grocery shopping, walked around town, hit the gym, did yoga and watched a movie. Phewwww.

I got a coffee at my favorite local joint Breaking New Grounds. I might be in my head, but the coffee is so good, it’s like a dessert! SAM_0428

I took a week long hiatus from the gym and it felt so good to get back in there and sweat. I am restarting Phase II of the LiveFit Trainer. I only did the first week of it and then took my break from working out, so I am just going to restart the program so I make good on completely it fully.

The best part of Phase II is I can do cardio! It is supposed to be 30 minutes of cardio and I am pretty sure it is not supposed to be very high intensity, but I really wanted to get a good workout in so I did a 30 minute Tabatha run on the treadmill. It made the 30 minutes go by so fast. The quick bursts of activity were balanced out with the short 10 second rest periods. I just stood on the side of the treadmill for the rest periods and jumped back on (very carefully) for the sprint. It takes way too long to adjust the speedsimageAfter cardio, I did the strength routine scheduled for the day. image

I hope I can stick to this plan and eat well. I want to tone up and get some muscle definition. That’s the goal!

Around 6pm my brother called me and invited me to go to yoga at 3 Bridges Yoga with him and his girlfriend, Marie. I was hesitant but knew I would not regret it if I want. So I did. And, I am so happy I did. It was just what the doctor ordered. I have been so on edge, out of my element and stressed lately. It felt good to get back to balance.

SAM_0434Thank you to Willie and Marie for getting me motivated to go. I enjoyed it so much, I bought a 3 week unlimited pass! I guess I will be doing  some yoga in the coming week. Yippeee!

Now I am on the coach watching Drive. So far it is pretty slow, but I can’t complain about watching Ryan Reynolds for 2 hours!

President’s Day

I will leave with Ryan. Have a great day. Smile

How did you spend your President’s Day?
