I am an AtoZ veteran. I’ve never seen such a huge turn out of bloggers AND I’ve been blown away by the team of folks overseeing this entire process. I’ve enjoyed the chats I’ve participated in and have visited the main blog not each day, but I’ve enjoyed the days I’ve visited.
My quick recap:
Before: Woo hoo! I'm a super creative and a super hero and nothing can stop my flow now! We had a mini writing marathon where I got a good deal of my posts pre-written and/or preformatted. I also made some images ahead of time so that when the challenge started, I was allowed to go mix and mingle rather than write and post.
The first day: It ignites my “nobody likes me!” syndrome. It felt like I was commenting and tweeting and sharing the love and nobody was responding. Until they did. By Day 2 things were rocking and a rolling which once again reminds me - people are all busy doing the same thing. They’ll come around!
The last day: FINALLY! Room to consider how to recycle the material I’ve created for other purposes. I have gotten so much positive feedback I need to take all of this, repurpose it and take it to market it.
This is my fourth time participating in A to Z challenge.
I finished two years ago and came close last year, too.
My travel schedule interfered and I wasn’t as good at prescheduling posts as I am now.
This year I was the most active by far with prescheduling and working on the challenge with a specific group of people which was definitely helpful. I also did a writing marathon the weekend before and got most of my posts scheduled, a practice I want to keep up in the future.
Another plus this year: I created an entirely engaging series - it was created not for me but for blog visitors, especially writers and other creative folks. Anyone who came and hung out with me, even for one day, went away with value (if he or she chose the scoop it up, that is!)
My Favorite Three Posts:
B is for Begin: "Begin, Be Bold and Venture to Be Wise"
L is for Light: Ending the Cycle of Fear of Other People's Opinions
R is for Risk: Sometimes the Biggest Risk is Taking No Risk at All
I’m glad I participated in A-to-Z and saw it through this year. I'm even vaguely proud of myself that when toward the end I really wanted to throw in the towel AND I just kept going.
