Save With Jamie - Shop Smart, Cook Clever, Waste Less

Books and reading are a passion of mine. Something that I don’t get enough time for is escaping into a good book. It is one of the pleasures in life. There is always a great adventure just waiting to happen when you get a new book and open it to Chapter One.
You can let your imagination fly as the words weave a story around you.
A wise person once said “Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counsellors, and the most patient of teachers”.
Do you enjoy reading? Who are your favorite authors?
With the holidays fast coming up are you on the lookout for a couple of good books to read and enjoy?
As a busy Mum at the moment, I don’t get a lot of free time to get involved in a novel. That time will come again for me, but the books that I do love at the moment are Cookbooks. Especially with small children I am always on the lookout for tasty, cheap, easy meals that I can whip up and that my young family will eat and enjoy and would like me to cook again.
A book that really has caught my attention is Save With Jamie, Shop Smart, Cook Clever, Waste Less. A book filled with money saving meals and written by the awesome Jamie Oliver. I must admit I am a bit of a fan.
This book is about cooking nutritious and tasty meals on a budget. It shows you how to make better choices when shopping, how to buy economically and efficiently, how to save time and prevent food being wasted and also how to get the most out of the ingredients that you do have.
Everyone seems to be under some financial pressure at the moment. The beauty of this book is that all the recipes it contains are cheaper per portion than your average take away meal. This book doesn’t compromise either. The recipes inside have big flavours; contain colourful, optimistic dishes; comfort foods that make you feel happy.

These recipes are uncomplicated but also very creative to make as well. A big bonus is the many ideas on how you can use the leftovers that you may already have.
Jamie’s hints and tips in this book are definitely worth a read. As Jamie himself says:
How can time-poor people shop smarter?
There are loads of strategies you can put into place to help you shop smarter, but if you're looking to save time, I'd say stocking up on staples that have a long shelf-life is key - really, it's like laying the foundations, and will mean that you only need to pick up a few seasonal bits and pieces to make something really delicious. Embracing leftovers is also a great time saver - invest a bit of time on the weekend and you'll massively reap the rewards in the week when you're busy - super-tasty meals for very little effort.

As an added bonus for my readers, I can offer you a 5% discount off any hard copy or CD Audio book from Bookworld. The code is BW-SEO14 and this is valid until 31 January, 2014.

You can also receive an additional 10% off if you sign up to be a Bookworld Citizen. It is free to join.
