Self Diet Club Day 1

Posted on the 23 August 2012 by Mattie @comfyconfident

Today I completed the first day of the Self Diet Club. I didn’t follow the meal plan per recipe, but I did follow the caloric guidelines. I actually ate less calories than prescribed, but I think I consumed a good amount. Myfitnesspal tells me to reach my goal weight I should eat about 1200 calories and the Self Diet Club has me eating 1600. So, I am going to aim to eat between 1200 – 1600 calories.

Now or my meals….I have been craving cereal so I made myself a bowl of Kashi Go Lean and it was everything I was hoping for. Sometimes a good bowl of cereal hits is all the doctor ordered!

In the bowl:
1 cup Go Lean
1 cup Almond Milk
½ banana

Around 10am I ate the other half of the banana as a quick snack.

For lunch I had a big salad with grilled chicken and an apple. Of course, I stayed hydrated all day with my Nuun water bottle!

My afternoon at work was incredibly hectic although I did have a special surprise when the ice cream truck came!! I got a classic, the strawberry shortcake ice ceam pop. My mom used to always get those when I was a kid.

I left work around 6:20pm, dressed for a workout. I stopped halfway home and ran along the Minuteman Bike Route to get my cardio session in. The run was actually harder than I had expected. I ran 4 miles, but my pace was slow and I got a cramp. I can not remember the last time I had a cramp running. I ran 4 miles… that is what matters!

I planned on going to the gym once I got home, but I was starving and feeling weak. So instead, I ate another big bowl of cereal. I know, it’s not the best dinner ever, but I needed something and this was the first thing I found.

I think I am going to have to get up early and workout in order to fit it in. If I work out at night, I don’t eat dinner until 8:30 or 9 and that is way too late. So, tomorrow I am going to work out in the morning and do the strength I missed tonight.

How do you ensure you get your workouts in?
