She Blinded Me With Science, #1081

I am a self admitted smart phone and iPad junkie.  Seriously, why hasn’t the world caught on yet and made Wifi readily available in every nook and cranny of the universe?  I get completely irritated when I go to a cafe or a store that has no way to hook me up.  Get with the times, people!

That is why my recent smart phone scandal has me going absolutely batty.  It all started when we decided to switch from Sprint to T-Mobile service.  Sprint has been good to us, but their service in Tucson is unfortunately just lousy.  I was tired of continuously getting dropped calls in every part of town.

So we finally made the switch,  only like the rest of the world, I had to order my new iPhone 6 due to the overwhelming demand for them a cross the country.

And here’s where the troubles began…

The T-Mobile guy accidentally “ported” (a word I have never heard before this ordeal) my Sprint phone prior to me receiving the iPhone 6 in the mail.  This means he cancelled my Sprint service.  What this all boils down to is that T-Mobile had to give me a loaner phone, and I’ve been walking around for the last month with 2 cell phones – 1 with my contacts on it that only works in Wifi locations and 1 piece of garbage loaner phone to make phone calls with.  To say the least, I’m frustrated.

The good news is that the T-Mobile service is light years better than Sprint’s.  I’ve had no dropped calls at all.  I’m just royally bugged to be dealing with this.

Supposidly, after my husband spent hours on the phone with a T-Mobile customer service representative named “Princess”  (I swear that’s true – let your jokes take over!!!), the fairy tale is in sight.  My iPhone 6 is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday.  Hallelujah!

This whole process has made me realize just how completely glued I am to my smart phone and that it has seriously become a way of life. That is why my song of the day is “She Blinded Me With Science” by Thomas Dolby, because science wins!  It has taken over, and it is here to stay.
