This past weekend I went to an event here called Junkstock. It’s a huge funky festival of well… junk. It’s booths upon booths of vintage stuff for sale by vendors wearing peace symbols and a band whose stage is on top of a pick up truck. It’s a really cool event, I must admit.
So while walking around, I saw a man selling old Scrabble tiles. For those who have been readers since the inception of this blog, you know that Scrabble is a special game to me. My grandmother who lived with me my entire life used to love it. I grew up playing it with her and we would play every single time I came home to visit as an adult.
My grandmother passed last May and I truly miss those games of Scrabble. So imagine my surprise when I looked down at this man’s vendor table and saw this…
My grandmother’s name was Ida.
Seems she’s still playing with me from wherever she is now…
Simply awesome.
