Skin
There is a skin beneath
all that guile and innocence
impervious to all forms of flattery
it can differentiate
the right and wrong
and good from evil
it bodes well with the mind
better sense prevails
in almost all affairs
but one
the one whose path
leads through
a tiring and long sojourn
in the confines of love and empathy
it is ambiguous
this path
people generally tend to lose themselves
And it is common for mere mortals
to return to their graves
empty handed
but those who have courage
and belief in the power of good over evil
they are rewarded
not easily,
but the end is always sweet
sweeter than any true love's kiss
and rewarding than anything
ever could be
