Sleep

I am restless and cannot rest. It does not beckon me but rather pushes me away. It neglects me and does not want to obey me. It turns it's back on me and cowers in the shadows; unwilling to join me in the feast of warmth; to bask there in bed with me. I call it, I yearn it with a overworked mind. Still it does not come. I pray for it, beg and plead. My eyes droop tired of this game it intends to play. Why can't I win? Please sleep, let me.
