I'll never forget my sons first oncology appointment. He was only 5 months old and it was a 5 hour wait. The room was absolutely packed with sick children and for the first time in my life I felt like I was in another world. Where we were completely ignored.
Feeling ignored by the world outside - I know that's not true and it was just a feeling but it's almost like the worlds dirty little secret because despite all the fundraising and blogs we see daily nobody really understands just how horrendous the situation is.
