I need a pity party today and need to subject you all to some good old fashioned whining. I had a headache all day yesterday. Guess it wasn’t due to lack of sleep and stress like I thought it was. Nope, I’m sick. I woke up with a scratchy throat and feel genuine blah. The headache is still there, too.
Here’s why I need you all to feel sorry for me. My husband is out of town, and the kids are just relentless. Sick shmick! Mommies are simply not allowed to lack in their super power skills. We must be on at all times.
I have too much work to do, too. I can’t just blow off the day like I wish I could. No fever means no sick day, and I have a mountain of tasks to get through.
So, please get out your violins and play a wilting melody for this sad sap today. I’m going to try and give myself a little octane though. Van Halen always does that for me. Here’s their sicky song, “Somebody Get Me a Doctor”.” It’s classic Van Halen fun, and that’s just what the doctor ordered.
