When my sick boy curled right up at a festival in a corner and feel asleep!
My kids have been sick for a week! They’ve had runny noses, coughs, sore throats and high fevers. It was a nasty bug and caused them each to miss several days of school even missing their final performances/presentations for the school year. They are on the mend finally, I am happy to report, but guess what….we all know in order to get rid of illness you need to give it to someone else, right?
Yep…that is correct. I am fighting off their crummy sicknesses with a huge week ahead of me. The last day of the school year is Wednesday, and camp staff training begins on Thursday for me. Please, please, please let me get better. I totally cannot miss any work at all this week! Oh hell….pumping myself full of Emergen-C vitamin C powder.
So far, no fever has struck, and I am counting on my built up immunities from being a teacher to hold strong. Being a teacher for several years around hundreds of runny noses and disease is a great health insurance plan…let me tell you! So please, let this perk to the job kick in!
Ok….enough moaning and pleading. I’ll just give you all my song of the day…”Somebody Get Me a Doctor” by Van Halen, because despite the fact that it’s about illness, it’s full of high energy good times to help me shake off the low energy I’m feeling. Blech!
