Sparks, hearing aids, and butterflies

This week my colleague and I are teaching 5-day clubs, two actually, one at a church and one in a nursing home,

and this morning, our ordinary transportation was deemed un-drive-able. So, we headed out to our church, and no host/hostess.
Sooo...we get set up after a few desperate phone calls, assuring we're are, in fact supposed to be there. The room was a wee bit dark, so we hit the lights.
After a few minutes, some sparks started shooting out-and I yelled, "Turn off the lights, turn hem off-quick!"
We headed downstairs to alert some of the men down there and they were delighted. Apparently our dilemma was something they were looking for. Anyways, there was a live and loose wire burning into the wall-something that would've started the church on fire eventually (yeah, we normally go around saving the day). So club proceeded.

Then, my friend needed to pick up her pants after our club and n our way home, and while en route I came to the understanding we were going to my childhood nightmares and best friends most dreaded establishment, a place where suspicious murders had occurred. To be honest, I was less than thrilled to be actually driving us there.

Again, more excitement.
Then, at our second club at the nursing home, in the middle of my dear, calm and collected friend's Bible lesson, one of the residents declared that they were unable to hear a word we were saying. Awesome.
So we got that sorted too.

So, today was a particularly ugly day, it being a Monday-and all of the afore mentioned events plus finding I had to work an hour longer than anticipated. And, I can honestly say I beat my dragons today-and even though I'm a wee bit exhausted, I still beat them. I can do it agian tomorrow even, if I should so desire.

But, keep your chin up-it can only go up from here.

DFTBA
God Bless,
LizB
