Hey Guys, hope ya'll are doing good!Go grab some pop corn though, I'm about to spill a secret!Ok So when I posted this picture a while back across some of my social media accounts, people seemed to really like the outfit especially the red hat. Little did they know the story behind the hat. If you're regular on my blog, you'll know I don't believe in extravagant spending to recreate celebrity looks. I believe in creating your own style or if you're inspired by a trend, take it but make it yours. You don't want to look like Jo Soap across the road from you.
I wasn't even looking for a hat when I was shopping and stumbled upon it in the guys section at JAM ( A relatively cheaper clothing shop in South Africa). I'm no stranger when it comes to buying from the guys section! I find a lot of stuff I like there and obviously make it look feminine (sorry guys). For example I prefer shirts that are biggish on me, but the shirts in the ladies section these days are mostly crop tops and I wonder sometimes if they've moved the kiddies section to the ladies section because of the tininess of these shirts! And guess how much it cost me? R12 , yes that's like $0.80 (80 cents). Meanwhile people spend R59.99+ to get a "good" hat.
So what I'm I trying to say?
1. Check the guys section, they've also got somethings we ladies can rock.2. Check cheaper shops, thrift shops. Those are the places you'll find unique items.3. Always shop according to your style. Be a trend setter, not a trend follower.
That awkward moment when you walk past a guy and you both are wearing the same hat though. Opps
Would you shop from the guys section? Do let me know!Much LoveJoan
