Reality is starting to set in, because my life is about to have a big change. Beginning on Monday, I am starting a Masters program. I haven’t been in school almost 20 years, and I’m beginning to get some serious nervous jitters. I know that this degree will only enhance my life both professionally and personally, but oh gosh — how in the world am I going to juggle it all? I work full time with lots of extra hours, and I’m a mother of two young children and a wife, too!
There have been so many other students before me who have accomplished the the same task, so somehow, it’ll all work out. “Right?” the little voice inside my head asks with uncertainty.
This is a three year program. Three years seems like an awfully long time when you’re sitting at the beginning of it. I look back on my life though at all of the milestones that just flew by, and I can only imagine that at the end of these three years, I am going to feel the same way about this degree.
So, here I go…jumping in feet first. It’s time to sink or swim!
My song of the day is from John Lennon. “Starting Over” feels right for the moment, so please send me good thoughts and prayers as I make a new start. There’s nothing scarier than the fear of the unknown.
