Lanyards…the perfect camp symbol.
I’m looking at the date this morning and reality is kicking in big time. Memorial Day is exactly 1 month from today, and while that will be a day off for most United States citizens, in my family it marks the day before summer camp starts. Arizona’s summer begins a few weeks earlier than the rest of the country (ends earlier, too) in order to get children out of school during our hottest months of the year.
I live for summer. I always did as a child, and none of that has really changed as a grown up either. That said, summer comes with a crazy and exhausting schedule and an unimaginable amount of work and responsibility. Of course, I will embrace it, but phew…..it’s like training for a triathlon.
So, wish me luck as we’re about to climb Mt. Everest as the first hint of the summer breeze is headed our way.
Speaking of which….”Summer Breeze” by Seals and Croft is my song of the day, because summer is almost here!
