My blog today is a continuation of yesterdays blog, “That Power.” In yesterday’s blog, I explained that AIMS testing for my daughter fell right after having two nights in a row of Passover seders. I feel that the decision to hold standardized testing anywhere near Passover is wrong, so I emailed my daughter’s Principal to voice my disappointment. In her response, she stated:
“Our experience has been that the majority of students miss only the first day, so we went forward with resuming testing on the second day. “
Forgive me, blog readers, but I don’t recall ever receiving a survey as to which nights we celebrate Passover in our household. I wrote back and explained to the Principal that most synagogues host 2nd night Seders. This is the night for communities to celebrate together, which often happens.
So now I’m curious….please speak up. How many of you traditionally celebrate a 2nd night seder? Could you please chime in. I really would like to know.
To give you all a little music to mull it over, here’s a silly song I found on Youtube called “Survey Song.” Enjoy!
