Yay! I woke up so happy today. My husband is coming home!!! He has been gone for 8 whole days. It is rare that he is gone this long, and the kids and I have missed him so much. Our reunion will be sweet, but even though my thoughts are on seeing him, I can’t help but think about single parents, too. Every time he goes away, I think about them with such high regard. Managing my two energetic crazy kids alone for 8 days makes me feel like I climbed Mt. Everest and survived. I can’t imagine having to do this 100% of the time.
In fact, I think I’ve even written about this topic before. Single parents really all deserve awards for their bravery and strength, because man…they don’t have it easy.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my kids to pieces. We’ve even had a lot of fun in my husband’s absence, but it will be awesome to have a second person to help with the responsibilities again.
So, once more, I am tipping my hat to single parents today, and my song of the day is for them. “Survivor” by Destiny’s Child is a perfect anthem for the moment, so enjoy it and G-d bless!
