Sushi and Smiles

Posted on the 06 June 2013 by Gray Eyed Athena @grayeyedowl

You know those days where you know you’ve just got it?

Michelle and I grabbed sushi at a nearby Whole Foods for lunch today, and at checkout, the young man behind the counter handed my change back to me and said, “I just wanted to tell you that you have the most beautiful smile.  It lights up your whole face.”  Obviously, I then couldn’t keep myself from smiling as I thanked him and told him he made my day.

This morning at the gas station, another very attractive young man smiled at me and then kept looking back over his shoulder at me as he went to his truck.

And Joe is starting to voice his concerns about one of his friends (Alex) whose motives Joe is beginning to question, as Alex has been emailing me a lot and Joe thinks he might be coming on to me.  Alex is also the guy I spent all day Saturday with on his boat, with 10 other people.  My response to Joe’s concerns has been that we’re just friends.

This is the stuff that makes me feel attractive.  It doesn’t take much.  And occurrences like these are certainly happening more and more, the further I get into my restrictive journey with the more weight I lose… not because I was obese or ugly when I began, but because I no longer feel obese or ugly.  And sometimes, I even feel attractive.  It’s a state of mind.  It also doesn’t hurt that there’s less fat on my face to crowd out my smile…
