Sweet Dreams, #749

Posted on the 03 August 2013 by Juliezaz1 @juliezaz1

I have been wanting to write this blog for a couple of days now, but for one reason or another, I have just not been able to.  One thing I love to do, blog readers, is promote special little Mom and Pop shop businesses that I discover in Tucson and that I think are deserving of some recognition and could probably use the free publicity.

About a week ago, my daughter’s Brownie troop earned a baking badge at the sweetest little bakery in town called “Le Bon Gateau.”  It is a darling little shop located on N. Oracle Rd. across the street from the Oracle View movie theater. (formerly American Home Furnishings, too.)  Well located, though a little set back from view from the road, this is a quiet little bakery with amazingly good sweets and treats that should not be overlooked!

According to the website, owner Maribel Cervantes, has been a pastry chef for 26 years working at various Tucson locations such as  The Arizona Inn, The Wild Flower and La Hacienda Del Sol.  In 2011, she opened Le Bon Gateau, and besides the gorgeous cakes that are shown in the storefront window, she also teaches classes and hosts cupcake decorating parties for children.  Here are a few photos from our special time at her shop.

So, Tucson friends, I thought I’d pass on the information to you.  Here is all you need to know:

Le Bon Gateau
4695 N. Oracle Rd 105, Tucson, Arizona 85705(520) 624-4504
Website: http://www.lbgtucson.com/Home.html
Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/LeBonGateau

My song for this darling little bakery and for my song of the day has got to be The Eurythmics singing “Sweet Dreams.”  Click HERE to go to Youtube to hear the song, and I can assure you, Tucsonans, Le Bon Gateau is definitely a local treasure where sweet dreams are made!
