Ten On Tuesday, v.1

Posted on the 31 January 2012 by Laureneverafter @laureneverafter

Today, I’m doing something new with Chelsea from Roots and Rings where she creates 10 questions every Tuesday for bloggers to answer and link up on her blog. I’ve been wanting to participate in this for a long time, since back when I was with Blogger and am finally getting around to doing it.

1. What’s you variety of apple?

I don’t really know the brand name of the apples I like, but they’re the small, bright red ones that are crisp. I hate the big, dark red ones because they have an odd taste to me and they’re a little softer than I like.

2. Do you prefer Long-English or Field cucumbers?

I don’t think I really have a preference. I just started eating cucumbers in my salads, but I have no idea what kind they were.

3. Tomatoes – delicious or disgusting?

I don’t think they’re disgusting, but I don’t think they’re delicious either. I can eat them mixed with other food, such as spaghetti, but not on their own.

4. What’s one fruit or vegetable you can’t stand, and why?

I really don’t like asparagus. I think this mostly has to do with something some perv kid told me when I was younger – that asparagus makes guys’ private area taste bad, and that just totally disgusted me, because now every time someone says asparagus that’s what I think about. Sorry if it ruined it for you, but Chelsea did ask…

5. What’s your favorite way to prepare veggies?

I would have to say boiled, grilled, or fried.

6. Sweet potato pie: love it or hate it?

Until a month or so ago, I would’ve said I hated it, but then I tried some of my cousin’s mom’s sweet potato pie, and it is delicious. I had to have a piece every time I went over there, and she always makes them!

7. What’s your favorite “style” of French fry?

I love curly fries, crinkle, and waffle mostly. Do tater tots count as fries, too? Because those take the cake for me.

8. What’s your favorite fruit-pie filling?

I don’t have one. Other than sweet potato pie, I don’t eat much of it.

9. When you were a kid did your parents make you sit at the table until all your veggies were eaten off your plate?

You know, I’m not really sure. I don’t think my problem was with veggies so much as it was with meat. For some reason, I never wanted to finish the chicken or steak or pork loin or whatever meat was for dinner that night. I certainly don’t have as bad of a problem with that anymore, though.

10. Do you drink veggie or fruit juice blends or do you make them yourself?

Neither. I’ll buy the occasional apple juice, but other than no. I’m really big on green tea right now, so that’s what I’ve been drinking mostly.
