It was a devilish night…
As the wind swept
The squirming dust that had crept
On and inside those faded pages
I hadn’t read them for long
And it has been ages
There’s a sweet meloncholy attached
Reminiscent of a past
That now, farfetched
It pulls me close
Tries to have it’s way
Not letting a moment, astray
I free myself
Shuffling those barbed tentacles
Runaway to the shore in a hurry
Away from all that shackles
A spec of mourning breeze blew
Unjust, unfair, uncouthed
It slammed against my ears
I wondered what it said
With an embrace
Decaying and Bold
Clutching me around my shoulder
Like things left seemingly untold
Ah ! That devil night
Forever it amuses
Love and hate
It’s choicest abuses…
And it put on a mask
And danced as the rain fell
What was what ?
Hard to tell..
That clumsy devil of a night….
