The Bunny Hop, #964

Posted on the 05 May 2014 by Juliezaz1 @juliezaz1

I have the happiest and most feel-good blog to write for all of you today!

Some of you might remember the story of when my daughter saved her hard-earned money to buy a Build-a-Bear.  She was so proud of herself and came home with this bunny named Buttercup.

Tragedy struck our household not long after when our mischievous Beagle came into her room in the middle of the night and did this to it.

Because our lives are so hectic, it took us awhile to do anything about our daughter’s bunny.  Needless to say, she was devastated about the whole thing, and we really didn’t know if there would ever be any resolve.

Nevertheless, we finally had her tell her story to Build-a-Bear, and that’s when we learned about the Build-a-Bear Repair Hospital.  They took the bunny from our daughter promising her Buttercup’s safe return.

It took months (maybe 6 months), and we actually forgot about the whole thing.  Finally, one day last week, there was a voice mail.  “Buttercup is back from Bear Repair, and you can come pick her up whenever you want.”

Yesterday we were at the mall, and to my daughter’s absolute delight, she got her Buttercup, who was unbelievably as good as new.  Check her out in her special hospital shirt, too!

She was given a clean bill of health to go along with it, as well.

Build-a-Bear is the most amazing company.  What an incredible and special way to handle such a tragic story.  Not only did they repair her bunny, but they did it with the love, joy and imagination that children need so badly.  I am the biggest Build-a-Bear advocate!  CLICK HERE to read the blog I wrote months ago about their amazing philanthropic Build-a-Bear Foundation.  This is one company that should be a corporate role model for all others.

My song of the day is “The Bunny Hop” in honor of this beautiful story.  It is apropos with its cheerfulness, because I have one very happy daughter who has been reunited with a very special bunny friend.
