The Crack in the Windshield

Roads are always traveled, homes are  usually lived in.  Both full of individuals  searching or wanting more than we have. By traveling roads less traveled. For the sake of finding what we seek.

Seeking and selling our integrities for an unnourished greed. As we try to feed something that swifts when the winds blows.  That, drifts where the river ends and the ocean begins. An end less drift and beyond our view sometimes. As, we take a step back to reflect over waters that can hold it’s own troubles. We, will just watch the things we care about coast away.

Coasting, as we think, or move forward, on a  mental road trip of hope. That, we have taken as a means to escape in order to succeed in our plans. To only realize, nothing seems to matter. As we lay in bed feeling the emptiness in our  bellies. Clearing, our eye’s, visions with the waters of our over heating emotions.

As, the comfort of our  home wraps around us. We get that same feeling, whenever we see that familiar  road, that leads to home. It’s where, if only for this night we say our prayers that fills our soul. Until, daylight comes, and we say our thanks you the Lord for how far we’ve come.

But, still sometimes the wisdoms of a still pondering world. Is the crack in the windshield, on our road to true discovery.

“ In Life we will come to a point,

Where a decision must be made.

Will we choose to walk with comfort’s guide

Or journey the narrow path God, say?”

~Lysa TerKeurst  from her book, What Happens when Women say Yes to God.

Posting at dVerse poets pub’s Open Link Night 112. A great group of poets, who have supported me in all my writings and oddly my faith. Not, once have they made me not feel welcomed or odd about writing about God or Christ. Thank You all. when I speak on the bad, it’s not this group! ~Blessings and great write poets and us Christians a like.
