My Mom is just landing in Israel as I write my blog this morning. She is there on a mission with a group of amazing ladies from my community. I have some big guilt about not going with her, because this is a women’s mission especially for mothers & daughters. While you all might think I’m awful for not going, I must defend myself. My grad school semester is about to start in a couple of days, and it would have been really hard to have missed the beginning of a semester with no time on the mission designated for homework. I’ve committed myself to grad school and doing a good job in it, so though the sacrifice this time is big, it’s what I needed to do.
That said, I am already following every word of all of these women on Facebook. So far I know of their travel craziness – re-booked plane tickets and snotty-nosed germy seat neighbors. Most importantly, I know that they have landed and are waiting for some of the other ladies to land and gather at Ben Gurion airport.
Sure, I miss not being there, but I am so excited for all of them to have this experience together, and so I want to give them all a song today. Ladies of the Heart to Heart mother/daughter mission, this song is for you! Enjoy every moment, because I’ll be following every step of the way.
