College was about to endAnd Employers were at the doorDiscussions and InterviewsLike there had been none before
Being selected as oneWas like winning a battleAnd everywhere I’d seeCongratulations did rattle
The victory was ephemeralAnd it soon meant losingWhen time was to leave homeFamily and friends, so loving
They say, “job-life’s boring”And you gulp in fearAlas! it is no less than funWhen you find new friends, dear
And it’s another world hereFramed in the cold blockWith warm smiles and hopeA system, desk and a lock
The indolent youth Spending four hours in collegeNow spent nine in officeWorking to gain knowledge
Within a month or twoWe too became professionalWork and ResponsibilitiesAnd a personal life in parallel
Family would motivateBosses would guideColleagues would helpand we sail with the tide
“Priorities” is the wordWe learned as we grewFrom students to employeesOf such a change, who knew?
There are personalitieswho inspire us to do morethere are speeches and sessionsand we learn from each chore
With high hopes and determinationWe begin each dayWith queries, sessions and tasksCompleting by the end of the day
Soon this too shall passthen it all might seem black and whiteBut for now, let life be colored
It’s new; it’s fun and tomorrow seems bright...The ITian
