The Little One's Travelogues

Posted on the 18 December 2014 by Shruti2910
"Children are a pain", my friend said when we were sitting at a movie theater next to a family with two children who were wailing continuously. I doubted if it was the children's fault or their parents'.
Hey, which two year old child would be keen on watching a romantic Bollywood film?
Children come with different dreams and expectation from people around them. Let's take a moment and recall what we wanted as kids?
Motor controlled cars over any luxury real car! A puppy house over a posh, page 3 styled apartment. A new dress for that worn out Barbie doll over branded kid's clothes mom brought for us.
What fascinated us then surely looks like a child's play now and taking it vice-verse as well! Of what I can recall of myself as a child, I was always excited about holidays - with parents or on a school tour.
"I don't know how your generation will raise their children. You people are so immature!", my mother says very often, usually eveytime I create a blunder in any of the tasks she asks me to do.
How would I raise my children? What will happen about my travel dreams after I have children? Will I take them with me? How will I enjoy my holidays with children? Will they enjoy the holidays with me? The second question, to be very specific, sent out jitters in me.
I have always thought I will be a really cool mother, especially after my own mother pushes me down for something, thanks to her conservative nature. This questions were my test number one for being a cool mother. Crushing my own dreams of traveling are a big no-no. My father always said traveling with family is the best way to bond with them. So, how exactly will I make my holidays with my kids memorable, for both of us? Here I list down two major to-dos I think which are essential for  happy family holiday:
1. Safety
Safety of children is the most important factor to be kept in mind while planning a holiday because no one wants their holidays to be memorable for all the wrong reasons! Using some facilities like baby locator application, ensure my phone number is branded over their bodies, in case they get lost are few of the precautions to be taken before hand.
Health safety next very important priority on list. Taking ample medicines and ensuring kids avoid sweets and other unhealthy munching on holiday are few important things to keep in mind.
2. Engaging them
Children love exploring! Giving your child a robust camera of their own might amaze us as to how beautiful the world looks from three feet! Ensuring some baby friendly games on mobile phone, audio stories and coloring books can be a blessing when that little one decides that the most important thing in the world is crying!
