While my dog is sleeping, I step over his dreaming body. He doesn’t stir, or even looks up. I’ve stepped over him countless times and once in a while I have accidentally touched him, raising him from his slumber. Twice I’ve actually stepped on him and hurt him – accidentally of course. He doesn’t hold that against me. His trust is superhuman.
