I’m a little bit behind on my Truthful Tuesdays posts, so I figured I’d do two in one go (#11 and #12).
My husband always tells me I always forget the compliments he gives me and the nice things he does for me. Although the latter is not true, I can’t really say that about the former. I’m not one to remember compliments.
I do, however, think I can say that I get a lot of compliments on my ‘smarts’. Of course I think this is kind of cool, because I admire smart people myself. Sometimes it would be nice to get some compliments on my appearance, and I don’t mean clothes. For example, ‘you have nice hair’ or ‘I like your eyes’.
Another compliment I really like getting is ‘I trust you (with my secrets)’. Being trustworthy is very important to me, and I personally don’t like people who I don’t trust. So, I guess, because this is another characteristic I greatly admire in others I really like being seen as trustworthy.
I also love being called passionate or enthusiastic and this is actually happening more and more in the last couple of years.
Being on the receiving end of a compliment is sometimes a bit awkward for me, but really nice nevertheless. For whatever reason I’m not really good at giving out compliments to people who are not my students. I wonder why this is.
